Storage - Packaging and Moving Services

In the modern scenario, the storage service providers have started offering packaging and moving services as well. And these services prove quite helpful to the tenants of storage facilities, who have to move to a new place.

If you have decided to rent a storage unit to store your belongings, then it is always wise to first pack all your stuff and then transfer it to the storage unit. There are so many people who just load up their belongings in a truck and just literally dump it in a storage unit. Doing this not only damages their things but also makes it difficult for them to locate something whenever needed.

Packaging Your Stuff

The right way to store your belongings in one of the storage units is to first pack your belongings properly. Every item that you are going to store in a storage unit needs to be packed using the right packaging material. For instance, you cannot just pack your chinaware in a plastic bag. You should rather wrap your china in a bubble wrap and then place them in a box. The empty spaces in the box need to be filled with paper scrapings to prevent the china from breaking during transportation.

Packaging Material

If you are going to rent a storage unit, the best thing to do is to get all your packaging material from the storage facility. To get the right packaging material, you should first make a list of all the items that you need to store. You can provide this list to the storage facility staff that will then provide you with packaging material. Bubble wraps, paper, boxes, markers, tapes, etc. are some of the packaging materials provided by storage facilities.

With the self storage giving you all the packaging material, you do not have to shop for it yourself which otherwise becomes a very cumbersome task. You might have to go to different stores to get all the packaging material you need. Moreover, if you do it on your own, there is no guarantee that you will get the right packaging material. So it is best to let the storage facility meet all your packaging material needs.

Once you have got the paraphernalia ready, it is time to pack your belongings. If you are not sure about how to pack all the items, the storage facility can help you out even in this. All your stuff will be packed properly to ensure safe transportation and every box marked to make it easier for you to locate items if the need arises. The professional staff of the storage facility will not only help package all the stuff, but will ensure that all your belongings are transported safely to the self storage facility unit you are renting.

Moving Services

Today most of the storage facilities also provide moving services to their tenants. These facilities provide truck rental services. Tenants can either rent a truck, or they can request the storage facility to help them move their stuff.

Storage facilities not only help their customers move to a new state, but can also provide moving services when relocating to another county. Your belongings will be packed properly and stored in a safe environment to ensure zero damage.

These packaging and moving services provided by various storage facilities have been greatly appreciated by customers.

US.storage-mart.com provides information related to storage facilities. You can easily find climate-controlled, regular, vehicle and wine storage units here. For more information about self storage please visit us.storage-mart.com

Planning For a House Move

A recent survey in the UK has revealed that moving home is considered to be one of the most stressful common events that people go through. However moving home need not be too stressful. Just a few steps of careful planning can help ensure that things go smoothly and that stress levels are kept to a minimum.

With so many things to remember when preparing for a house move it is perhaps little surprise that it is considered to be a highly stressful event. As with many things the secret to a successful house move is careful planning. Planning for a house move should begin at the earliest possible stage. The more work that is left to the last minute the more chance there is for something to be forgotten or for something to go wrong.

Probably the first step in preparing for moving home is to consider who will move your belongings. Most people will make use of a specialist removal company of which there are many in the UK. If using a removal company then they should be booked as soon as possible to ensure that they are available on the day you wish to move. A day or two before the move the removal firm should be contacted to confirm the date and time of the booking. A removal company that doesn't show up on the day of the move is sure to send stress levels rising. Even if moving items yourself planning is needed to ensure that the driver knows where they are going, and that the number of journeys needed is kept to a minimum.

Also requiring early planning are energy and other utility bills. A month or so before you move you should contact your electricity, telephone and broadband supplier and inform them of the change. There are two reasons for doing this. Firstly you do not want to end up being asked to pay the bills of the previous owner of the home. Secondly you want to ensure that all essential services will be working when you move into your new home. Clearly nobody wants to move into a new house and find that there is no working electricity.

When packing for your house move it is a good idea to pack with unpacking in mind. For example essential items should be placed where they can be easily accessed. Many people find that moving home offers a good opportunity to clear out much of the junk and clutter that they have accumulated. Clearly there is no need to be moving more things than are necessary and throwing away junk will mean that you will have more space available in your new home.

As can be seen with some careful planning moving house can be a stress free and even enjoyable event.

House Moving? Plan Before You Move!

So, you got a new job in a faraway city! What have you thought then? What did you say, what is there to think about? You will pack and go, it is that simple! But mind you, moving house is not so relaxing a job, it sure invites some stress. May be you are shifting for the first, time that is why you are not able to see the issues to be thought about before actual moving. I am not trying to be negative, just practical. And, its good to plan before you move. After all residential relocation does not only mean taking away your goods to a new location but the whole identity of yours move with you from one city to the other. Here are certain points to help you plan your house move!

  • Make your mind clear about which kind of area and atmosphere you want to live in the new place and also how big a house can you afford there (after all, cost of living is not same everywhere!).
  • If possible, visit the new house once and make an estimate as to how you can set your things and whether the location suits you.
  • Now take a look at your present house and your belongings. Classify them into categories such as things to be taken to the new location, things to be disposed off, items to be donated or sold out and so on. Get rid of anything that is not so essential to take along with you (lesser items will save you money, time and efforts).
  • If there are certain things that you do not want to dispose off but you can not even take them along or if you are moving for a very short period and will not need everything there, then think about and explore the possibility of self storage where you can put your belongings for a particular period of time.
  • Now decide whether you will hire professional movers and packers or go for self service moving. If you choose the second option, explore the options of self service moving suitable to you.
  • If you want your things to be transported by house movers, then find one that can give you services according to you needs and is within your budget.
  • Before finalizing the moving company, you will also have to decide about whether you will go for door-to-door-relocation or do some of the works, like packing, yourself.
  • Finalize the deal with the relocation companies by clearing all the doubts. Make agreement according to law and the policies of the hired company.
  • Get the utilities such as gas, electricity, water, Internet, cable, telephone etc. disabled in the old home and prepare the documents required for taking connections or transferring the old ones to the new home.
  • Make arrangements for updating your address information with all the relevant institutes/offices such as cellphone service, insurance, loans, credit cards services, banks, government offices like for postal address change, car registration, drivers license, employer etc.
Although all these will take up your time and efforts but after making all these arrangements, you will feel very light at your new house as there will be nothing pending to do at you old home city. All the best for your residential relocation then!

Moving Offices? It Can Be Easier Than You Think

There are plenty of different reasons why businesses move offices or premises from time to time. They may be upgrading from buildings that no longer meet their requirements; they could be moving into more modern buildings designed especially for their needs; or they may be moving to a completely different area.

Whatever the reason for the move, moving a whole business can often be even more difficult than moving your own home.

But there is help at hand. There are companies who can make sure that the whole process of moving is made much easier for you. Whatever type of buildings you are moving into there is every chance of you arriving on the premises to find that they are less than satisfactory to move straight into. This can set you back for days as you will need to make sure everything is clean and tidy before moving equipment, desks and everything else you need into your new space.

That's why it will pay you to get a professional cleaning company in first to make sure that everything will be clean, fresh, hygienic and ready to use as soon as you arrive. What's more they will also be able to get rid of all the packaging materials you use in the process of moving, which can clutter your workspace and make everything look instantly untidy and also dangerous if it isn't dealt with quickly.

It's obvious that any business will lose money during the process of a move. Even if some of their work can be outsourced or handled by another office there is no reasonable way that you would be able to continue handling the usual workload while you are moving premises.

It stands to reason then that the quicker you can complete the move and the more you can plan to take care of in advance, the better your chances are of getting back to normal as soon as possible.

That's why these companies are well worth looking into, because while you will obviously pay out for their services, the time they will save you in getting back into business again will more than pay for the fee incurred.

When you are looking for such a service, look locally first and see whether there is anyone in your immediate vicinity who provides this kind of service. Ask local businesses as well if they have used a similar service to get them moving in the past. When you find a suitable company to take the work on for you make sure you know exactly what will need doing, so that you can get a good idea of how long it will take to do what's needed.

You can then plan the move with much more accuracy, since you will know exactly when the cleaning team will need to access the premises to start work, and roughly when they will be finished. Depending on the size of the task, they may need anything between a few hours and a few days to complete the job you have set for them.

Moving Your Office More Efficiently

The only thing more stressful than a move according to psychologists is death and divorce. In this article we are going to share some tips to make your small business move more efficient and less stressful. Unlike a house move moving the location of your business, if not done correctly could cost your business money. Virtually all offices moves can take place over a weekend so there is no disruption to your day to day business.

A well planned office move would include booking your office removal service with plenty of notice. It should be treated like any other large project carried out by your company. The relocation experts treated as project managers as that is what they are for you. Once you have assigned this you move should run smoother and together you will assess whether you can do a staged move.

Every office has non essential equipment that may be able to be moved or placed into storage before the main move or prior to your lease expiring. This allows you actual move day to receive priority attention.

Check what equipment your office movers have, for example an electric stair climber would be very useful if you your office furniture has to go up and down lots of flights of stairs. The right type of crates can make all the difference and you will need to check that your moving company has crates or will organize their hire on your behalf. Simple things make all the difference in your office move.

Sometimes a few jumbo transits is far more time effective than one large 7.5 tonne vehicle. What this means is a vehicle can be loaded and sent to the new premises and the next vehicle loaded whilst that vehicle is unloading instead of waiting for one large vehicle to be packed and loaded.

Whatever you do decide to do to move your office make sure you have several quotes so you can compare the services offered.

A well planned move needn't be stressful it can be as simple as leaving one office on Friday and going to a new office on Monday.

Good luck and enjoy your new premises.
