Easy Baked Chicken Meal

With the economy today, it usually takes both spouses working to make ends meet. This leaves trying to prepare dinner quite a task at times. People are always looking for good, easy, economical recipes to prepare. Naturally, you want to serve your family a meal that is nutritious and filling at the same time.

In my home I have some very hearty appetites. I am always looking for meals to serve that are good and also will go a long way. I have found that my baked chicken and potatoes have proven to be a favorite of all . I would like to share my recipe with you.

INGREDIENTS:

1 lg. chicken
1 lg. bell pepper
2 lg. onions
6 lg.potatoes
kitchen bouquet
salt, red pepper, and black pepper

DIRECTIONS:

Start by washing your chicken(leave chicken whole). Next, season chicken with salt, red pepper and black pepper or if you prefer, you can season with season mix. Then I take Kitchen Bouquet(a browning liquid) and rub generously all over the seasoned chicken. I place the chicken in a large roaster pan (ungreased) and cut bell pepper and onions into large strips and place all around the chicken. Put covered roaster into preheated oven (400 ). Bake for 1 1/2 hours...while chicken is baking , peel and cut up potatoes into large bite size chunks. Add salt and about 2 tbsp. of kitchen bouquet to potatoes and set aside. After the chicken has baked for 1 1/2 hours, add the potatoes into the roaster with the chicken and mix with the chicken drippings and onions and bell peppers. Cover the roaster and cook for another 30 minutes (until potatoes are soft when poked with fork). Uncover roaster and put oven on broil and let it brown for 5 minutes or to your satisfaction.

The chicken can be prepared the night before...in fact, the seasoning seeps in and is tastier!

If you are a chicken lover as I am, then I am sure you will love this baked chicken. It is so juicy and the potatoes cooked in the chicken drippings along with the onions and bell peppers are "out of this world". ENJOY!

The Power of a Chicken Recipe

Chicken has got to be one of the most universal meats we have today. You can do so much with it, and you get so much from it. Have you got a really terrific chicken recipe that every time your family sits down to the table puts a smile on their face? Most of us do have such a wonderful recipe, for some of us it is fried chicken, and for others it will be our famous chicken soup.

The funny thing about a chicken recipe is that you can take the same recipe and alter a couple of ingredients and have a whole new dish. Or you can take an existing recipe that does not contain any chicken at all, perhaps that famous pasta salad that you make, toss in some cubed chicken and you’ve got a whole new chicken recipe that will delight your friends and family for years to come. And of course from that one alteration, you can create a whole list of new chicken recipe dishes.

More than likely, if each of us thought about it, we have enough chicken recipes that we have created in our own kitchens to create a whole Chicken Recipe Cook Book! Just think of the sections you could have: Fried Chicken, Baked Chicken, Stewed Chicken, Chicken Soup, Chicken Salads, Chicken Dips, Roasted Chicken, Chicken Casseroles – And this is just touching the surface. Such a cookbook would become famous in most kitchens.

It is a safe bet to say that there is not a woman alive today who does not have some kind of a chicken recipe that is her special pride and joy. In some cases, it will be the thing she offers to cook when her children come home for the holidays. Or maybe in some cases it is this special fried chicken that she makes to coax a son home after too many months away!

There are men who are quite savvy in the kitchen as well. And there are a number of chicken recipes, especially for fried chicken that are out of this world --all created by the male gender. It may seem a surprise to hear this, but it really is a fact.

The next time you are looking for an excellent chicken recipe, whether it be fried chicken, chicken soup or something more exotic such as Chicken Florentine, don’t be surprised if the creator of the recipe is a male, and don’t be surprised if it puts your own current favorite fried chicken to shame!

And for a moment let us keep in mind the nutritional value of chicken. It is high in protein, low in fat, and absolutely no carbs when skinless. You may be surprised to learn that it is a rich source of niacin, vitamins B-6, B-12, Vitamin D, iron, and zinc! It is pretty close to a perfect meat.

How many mothers keep a chicken soup recipe in their kitchen for those times when somebody in the family is sick? They know the healing power of chicken!

Make sure you keep enough chicken recipes on hand in your kitchen to serve it often and never get tired of it!

Top 3 Outback Restaurant Chicken Entree Recommendations

Outback Restaurant has some of the best chicken entrees in the restaurant industry. I know what you are thinking. Isn't Outback a steak house? Well, it is a steakhouse, but Outback Restaurant Chicken recipes are just as good as their steaks. My wife is not a big steak person, so I can take her with me to Outback to order chicken. I order a steak, and she orders a chicken recipe. Recently I tried Outback chicken, and I was amazed at how great it was. Now I am trying all of their chicken recipes.

There are three entrees that I recommend. If you are not going to order steak at Outback, you MUST try the Alice Springs Chicken. This is one of the most popular items on the menu. The Alice Springs chicken is grilled and it includes bacon, sauteed mushrooms, Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese smothered with honey mustard sauce. To top it off, you get a heaping serving of Outback mashed potatoes. You can not go wrong with this entree (unless you are on a diet!) Even if you are planning to order steak, you can order the appetizer version of this dish, the Alice Springs Chicken Quesadilla appetizer.

Outback has other chicken entrees if you want to watch the calories. Try the Chicken on the Barbie. This delicious recipe includes BBQ sauce instead of honey mustard and it includes veggies instead of mashed potatoes. If you love your BBQ sauce with chicken, then I personally recommend this entree. The grilled chicken will be served nice and juicy.

Lastly, I would like to recommend the classic Chicken Caesar salad. The Outback restaurant Caesar salad is NOT just another salad, and if you order this side item, you will see what I mean!

Outback is one of my favorite restaurants. Their steak is juicy and delicious, but their chicken recipe entrees are just as good. The next time you go down to the land down under, I recommend you try one of these entrees I have suggested!

Oven Baked Chicken Breast - Money Saving Tips For a Healthier Meal

Oven baked chicken breast is an easy dish to make. It requires little preparation time, does not need to be watched closely while baking, and tastes great. Boneless skinless chicken breast recipes are very alluring as an entrée for either lunch or dinner and everyone seems to like them.

However, you may want to know how to save money when preparing them.

Meat Preparation To Save Money

The cost of boneless skinless chicken breasts may be prohibitive when compared to other meats. Processing a whole chicken into more usable parts at home will help you save money.

A whole chicken is usually much less expensive than boneless skinless chicken breasts because of less handwork by the butcher. If you perform the same tasks the butcher would to reduce an entire bird into more usable pieces then you are applying your labor instead of paying cash for it at the store.

It is not difficult to make boneless skinless chicken breasts from a whole chicken. You can often find whole chickens on sale so buying a few while on sale and storing the butchered pieces in your freezer will save you money.

A side benefit is that you end up with skin and bones, which can be boiled and converted to make rich chicken broth. Broth can be used for chicken soups of all types or in other recipes for flavoring.

By allowing the fat to float to the top of your finished broth while it is stored overnight in the refrigerator will allow you to easily remove it. A low-fat chicken broth is much healthier and more flavorful.

Chicken broth can be used in many ways when you are formulating your healthy diet plan. To eat healthy you must plan ahead. Otherwise you will eat whatever is available when you get hungry.

Unfortunately, this is usually fast food and fast food is bad for you.

Oven Baked Chicken Breast Recipes

Oven baked chicken breast recipes are easy to make. Whether served for lunch or dinner they will add a reliable source of protein to your meals.

Try this simple yet elegant dish for an easy family-friendly meal.

Marinated Chicken Breasts With Dip

Place boneless skinless chicken breasts in a bowl or plastic bag. Add your favorite Italian or other olive oil based salad dressing. Cover bowl or seal plastic bag. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

When ready to bake place marinated breasts into an oven-safe pan or baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for approximately 30-45 minutes. The cooking time will differ depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts.

They are done when cooked through with no red blood or meat visible when a cut is made in the thickest portion of the breast.

You can serve the chicken with the same dressing you marinated it in or another to use as a dip. Creamy dressing such as Ranch or blue cheese (as well as Roquefort) work great as dips.

Serve with a large salad containing many different colorful vegetables and wild rice cooked in chicken broth from your homemade chicken broth.

Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Breasts
1 Egg, beaten with a splash of water
3/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large jar marinara sauce
1 cup shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese

Mix Italian breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

Dip chicken breasts in egg wash (beaten egg and a splash of water) then roll in Italian seasoned breadcrumbs and Parmesan mix. Bake uncovered in a glass baking dish at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the chicken breasts.

Breasts are done when cooked through with no red blood or meat visible when a cut is made in the thickest portion of the meat.

Warm the marinara sauce in a covered sauce pan.

Place cooked chicken breasts on a serving platter, spoon marinara sauce over them, and then sprinkle with low-fat mozzarella cheese.

Serve remaining marinara sauce over whole grain pasta (whole wheat, spelt, brown rice, etc.) and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.

Begin the meal with a large salad. An olive oil based dressing is preferred because of the health benefits this healthy oil offers.

Making oven baked chicken breast recipes is easy.

Eating oven baked chicken breast is even easier.

Eating a healthy diet plan while saving money is possible. Plan ahead and prepare good healthy foods your family and guests will enjoy.

Baked Chicken Drumstick Recipe - Eat Healthy and Well

A baked chicken drumstick recipe is a beauty to behold.

It is easy to make, inexpensive, and good for you. A baked chicken drumstick recipe makes kids happy and can be served as an entree for a healthy lunch or dinner.

There is something about a good drumstick that is fun to eat and they fit well into your healthy diet plan.

A good baked chicken drumstick recipe adds variety to your diet when you tire of ground beef casserole recipes or other inexpensive beef dishes.

Good Recipe With Drumsticks

The important thing to remember about making a baked chicken drumstick recipe is that you must remove the skin from the meat. There is a huge amount of fat in the skin and by removing it prior to cooking this unwanted fat could be easily discarded.

This simple step will also remove many unnecessary calories from your food.

That's a good thing.

Removing the skin can be done just before cooking. That will allow your chicken to retain an additional layer of protection if you store the meat in your freezer. This is especially important if you put time and effort into butchering a whole bird into more usable portions.

Losing your succulent chicken to freezer burn is one thing but to have wasted time and effort in addition to ruined meat is unacceptable.

Let's look at a baked chicken drumstick recipe you and your kids will enjoy.

Breaded Parmesan Drumsticks

Ingredients needed:
8 skinned chicken drumsticks
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 egg, beaten with a splash of water added
3/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Mix the Parmesan cheese and the Italian seasoned breadcrumbs in a large bowl.
Beat egg and a splash of water in a separate bowl.
Dip the drumsticks in the beaten egg.
Roll the drumsticks in the Parmesan cheese/ Italian breadcrumb mix to coat.
Place the breaded drumsticks in a baking pan (preferably glass) that has been coated with olive oil.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Make It Healthier With Raw Vegetables

You can serve a raw vegetable platter while the chicken is cooking. Your children or guests will have good healthy food to munch on as the luscious smell of baking chicken permeates your home. In this way they will get the raw food enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and fiber found in these natural foods into them without a fight.

That's a good thing.

A baked chicken drumstick recipe is simple to prepare and serve. It is easy to extrapolate a good baked chicken drumstick recipe from any of the boneless skinless chicken breast recipes or oven baked chicken breast recipes found in cookbooks or on the Internet.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make when baking chicken drumsticks is to overcook the meat. Be sure it is done but the meat will dry out and become less palatable if you cook it too long.

Allow them to rest for 10 minutes before serving. They continue cooking as they sit. Cut into your drumsticks to make sure there is no red blood or meat still present before serving.

This is an excellent time to serve a fresh garden salad because your guests will be salivating at the smell of roasted chicken and will eat a healthy amount of raw vegetables. Use body physiology and psychology to get raw vegetables into your family and friends. It will benefit them greatly in addition to supplying them with great tasting foods.

Any good baked chicken drumstick recipe can be served either hot or cold. They go especially well as picnic food. Try them and enjoy!
